Today I’m very happy to share a new addition to my portfolio about animals: The Alpine Marmot. Here I found a real showpiece!
They always seem curious peaking out of her burrows and checking what’s going on.
Marmots are large squirrels. Their name goes back to the Old-High-German word “Murmunto” which again goes back to the latin “Mus montis” which means “mountain mouse”.
What’s really interesting is that Marmots can get 15 years old. Probably their hibernation helps in this regard…
