The Jemen Chameleon is a smart creature! When crossing the road as in the picture above it dresses itself in shiny green-yellow, so drivers like me can see the slowly moving animal early enough. Once the side of the road is reached the outfit is immediately changed to a brown camouflage look. Incredible!

The Dopharagame is another endemic animal of the region. This one was kind enough to pose for a great portrait shot (above). I’d like to feature a few more raptiles: A Gecko sticking on a house wall, a Bosc’s Fringe-Toed Lizard (I guess) which I saw in the desert sand and a tiny 5-6 cm long mini lizard I saw in a park.

Maybe not for everone: This quite large Golden Silk Orb-weaver I saw at the Wadi Darabt and indeed the net has a golden touch. Although impressive in size, this spider is not poisonous.

These guys seem to have had a lot of fun that day – not too far away from the cost around Taqa beach.

The below dolphin dance is really challenging to shoot and I was glad to at least have seen and captured one.
The White-eyed Bulbul (Pycnonotus xanthopygos) is widespread in the middle-east, and this very nice dragon-fly with its beautifully structured wings is always worth a shot.

I can’t end this post with a Camel picture. Although not “wild” animals – as they all belong to someone – they shape the landscape of the region.
