The 2016 Perseids Meteor Shower peaked between August 11th and 12th. Here I share a shot of August 12th with a meteor right above Piz Alv which is located in the Upper Engadin region in Switzerland.
The shot was taken at 11:23 pm just before moonset so that the hard shadow was not yet covering the peak of Piz Alv (2975 m). I used a Canon EF 14 mm f/2.8L II USM on an EOS 5DSR (20 sec., f/2.8, ISO 1000), and obviously I had some luck!
