I’d like to add another post to my little series on Panoramic Views in Switzerland. As in the very first post from this series we are again in the Ticino and again feature Lake Lugano, but this time the view from Monte San Giorgio.
From Melide (558 m a.s.l.) a nice 3.4 km hike through the forrest leads up to the peak of Monte San Giorgio at 1’197 m a.s.l. From there one can specifically see the beautiful u-shape of the southern part of Lake Lugano with the little town Morcote on the south end of the peninsula and Monte San Salvatore in the north.
The western flank of the lake can be seen best from the peninsula close to Agra. Below a nice morning shot of the 180 degree view showing various little bays.
