Eiger Glacier, Switzerland

Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau – three mountains in ther Bernese Alps – are one of the Alp’s favorits. This year there was only little snow so that one could take a look at the marble like ice of Eiger Glacier

This picture was taken with Canon’s new RF 100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM at 500mm, 1/125s, f/10, ISO 100 in the early afternoon where a bit of residual light touched the glacier. I’m repeatedly impressed how the double image stabilization in combination with the Canon R5 works allowing for super focused and high-contrast photos with quite long exposure time.

Here the view towards the Eiger North Face and the Mönch; between the two, the Eiger Glacier.
